Badla: Amitabh Bachchan steals the show even without being there in the film

Film Review: Badla

Bollywood has a handful of good suspense thrillers. Kahaani 2012 directed by Sujoy Ghosh is one best film of this genre. Badla is another Masterpiece of Sujoy Ghosh and expectations are high because it reunites the cast of much-loved movie Pink.

Badla

Badla is a remake of a Spanish Suspense thriller, ‘The Invisible Guest’. It’s a movie about Naina Sethi (Tapsee Pannu) who is a successful businesswoman of London, a mother to a daughter. Naina Sethi is charged with the murder of her lover Arjun Joseph (Tony Luke). All pieces of evidence are against her while she claims that there was a third person in the hotel room who killed her boyfriend.

Badla

Naina’s lawyer Jimmy Punjabi (Manav Kaul) realizes that it’s a tricky situation. Hence he hires expert defence attorney Badal Gupta (Amitabh Bachchan) to ensure she doesn’t have to go to jail. Badal reaches the residence of Naina and he begins his own investigation. Upon talking to Naina and insisting that she tell him the truth, He was able to bring out all the hidden secrets. She reveals that the murder of Arjun has something to do with the disappearance of a young man from a small town of Aviemore named Sunny Singh. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

Badla

Sujoy Ghosh direction is exemplary. All the actors have done complete justice to their roles. The climax of the film is unpredictable which makes it a worth watch. On the whole, it is a must-watch of in this era of Bollywood where we rarely get to see meaningful, well-directed and acted movies.
